Available Dashboards and Charts in AgNote

To help farmers make sound business decisions, AgNote is offering three dashboards in the Main Web Application.

Main Dashboard

This dashboard will be visible to all users who have access to AgNote’s main application.
Main Dashboard is what user will see right after logging-into the AgNote’s account.

Main dashboard provides visibility for your account key statistics such as, how much of the farmland is currently Planted / Fallowed / Unused, acreages of currently planted crops, monthly land cost, acreages or planted row crops and permanent crops, etc.

Row Crop Dashboard

Row Crop Dashboard will be visible only if there are row crops being managed inside AgNote. This dashboard is located under Row Crops in main navigation (on left side of the screen).

This dashboard provides visibility for Row Crop specific metrics, such as planted acreages of each crop by farm, yield history for currently planted crops, list of active irrigation and much more.

Row Crop Dashboard will also include dedicated charts for plantings which are currently in Annual Harvest View.

Permanent Crop Dashboard

Similarly, to Row Crop Dashboard, Permanent Crop Dashboard will be visible only if there are Permanent Crops plantings being managed in AgNote and will display key metrics for the Permanent Crops.
Permanent Crop Dashboard is located under Permanent Crops in main navigation.

AgNote's users can customize each dashboard to their liking.
On each dashboard, on the Charts slide-out tab on the right, user can choose which charts he/she wants to show and in what order. Chart order can be changed by clicking and dragging chart’s title up or down.

User access can be controlled to charts with Sensitive (financial) information. Once you add a new user to your account you can restrict user from viewing charts which include financial information.

To help AgNote's user to visualize their farm key areas, we also create custom charts upon request.

Main Dashboard

Current Planting Monthly Land Cost
Current Planting Monthly Land Cost

If you are tracking Land Cost for your plantings / properties, this chart will provide you the Total Land Cost per month, for the currently planted crops.

If you are managing multiple farms (companies) in your account, you will see the Land Cost for each farm in the account.

In AgNote, the Land Cost can be different for each planting. You can change the Current planting land cost by going to Administration -> Properties and updating the land cost in property's update form, remember, this will update the land cost only for the current planting.

When adding a new planting(s), you can specify the land cost during the add, if it is different. If the land cost is the same, leave the land cost form fields empty, and AgNote will use the same land cost as it is for the current planting.

Currently Planted Crop Acreages
Currently Planted Crop Acreages

A quick peek at the Currently planted acreages per crop, in the account. If one or more fields are being fallowed, that will be visible here as well.

Crop color can be changed for each crop in the account, by going to Management -> Crops & Varieties. Once you change the crop color, that change will trigger all tough out your account (dashboards, mapping).

Currently Planted Row and Permanent Crop Acreages
Currently Planted Row and Permanent Crop Acreages

A quick view of Row Crop and Permanent Crop acreages for each farm in the account.

If you are managing only one farm (company) in your account, the acreage information will be displayed on Pie Chart, otherwise you will see a Bar Chart.

If you hover-over the chart's bar, you will see a tooltip with the farmland acreages for that farm.

Currently Planted Row Crop Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre
Currently Planted Row Crop Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre

If you are managing Row Crops in your account, this chart is highly recommended to be kept visible on your dashboard. This chart will help you to monitor running costs for currently planted row crops. The costs you see in this chart are averaged for each farm and crop.

Since this chart displays information for the currently planted row crops, it will update as you update your planting information. It is also worth mentioning that the Land Cost accumulates as the season progresses. For example, if the Land Cost is $20 per acre per month and the crop is 50 days into the season, the Land Cost will be $40 / acre. Cost per period is rounded up, I hope that makes sense 🙂

This chart is similar to Current Planting Average Costs & Yield Per Acre chart, on Row Crops dashboard. We made this chart available on Maind Dashboard, because, we believe, tracking farming costs is critical, and if the user wants to see the farming costs as soon as he or she logs into the account, the cost information is right there on the Main Dashboard.

Farmland Acreage
Farmland Acreage

Currently planted, fallowed and unused farmland acreages in the account, grouped by farm.

This chart gives you a quick visibility of the total acreage for each farm. If there are any fields which are being fallowed, you will see that acreage marked in gray color.

This chart will quickly point out if there are unused (unfarmed) acres in the farm. Unused means, the field in not fallowed and nothing has been planted in the field. Behind the scenes, this chart compares field (property) acreage to Currently planted acreage. If you see red (unfarmed), it is possible that one or more fields don't have anything planted or one or more fields, are not entirely planted.

In AgNote, it is possible to have less acres planted than the actual field area.

Permanent Crop Current Year Average Costs & Yield (lbs.) Per Acre
Permanent Crop Current Year Average Costs & Yield (lbs.) Per Acre

Similarly, to Row Crops cost chart, we highly recommend having this chart visible on your Main Dashboard, if you are managing Permanent Crops in your account.

Since Permanent Crops are usually planted for multiple years, this chart will always show you the planting costs for the current year (season).

This chart is the same as Current Year Average Costs & Yield Per Acre chart in Permanent Crop dashboard. The reason we are making this chart available on Main Dashboard, is so user can look at the Permanent Crop costs as soon as he or she logs into the account.

Cost information is grouped in three (3) categories:

  1. Land Cost. Land cost can be, land lease, loan payment, management fee etc. This cost can be updated by going to Management -> Properties and changing the Land Cost in Property's update form.
  2. Input Costs. Average applied Input cost per acre.
  3. Task Costs. Average Task (activity) cost per acre. All individual tasks which make up the average cost can be found under Completed Tasks -> Permanent Crops

Row Crop Dashboard

Annual Harvest - Current Year Average Yields (t/ac)
Annual Harvest - Current Year Average Yields (t/ac)

This chart displays average yield (tons per acre) for current year row crops which have been moved into Annual Harvest View.

On the chart you will see the current year yield average for each crop and farm and the rightmost bar / bar-group displays current year average for the account.

And just like many other charts in AgNote dashboards, you can hide / un-hide crops in the chart by single-clicking the crop name in chart's legend.

Annual Harvest - Yearly Average Yields (t/ac)
Annual Harvest - Yearly Average Yields (t/ac)

This chart is similar to Annual Harvest - Current Year Average Yields (t/ac) chart, but instead of displaying current year average yields (tons per acre), it displays average yield (tons per acre) per year for all farms in the account.

Useful chart to monitor yield averages over time for row crops in Annual Harvest View.

Note that this chart will show the average yield for each crop in Annual Harvest View.

Current Planting Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre
Current Planting Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre

This chart shows the currently planted Row Crop costs and Yield. Note, the Yield axis is on the right side of the chart.

On this chart you will see average costs for:

  • Land. Land cost can be land's lease, rent, loan payment, management fee etc.
  • Seed. If you have seed purchase information saved for the planted varieties, the seed cost will be available. To add seed purchase information, go to Management -> Crops & Varieties -> Varieties (tab). On this tab you can add seed / plant purchase information for each variety. As soon as you save the seed purchase information, AgNote will check and calculate the seed cost for each planting with that variety.
  • Inputs. Average cost for all applied planting inputs.
  • Tasks. Average cost for all the completed tasks.

Note the averages are for each farm and crop.

Current Year Annual Harvest Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre
Current Year Annual Harvest Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre

This chart, just like Current Planting Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre chart, displays average cost information for currently planted row crops which are in Annual Harvest View.

Here are few differences from Current Planting Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre chart:

  • All costs are only for the current calendar year
  • This chart does not include seed cost. Usually crops in Annual Harvest View are crops which are planted in the same field for multiple year, therefore, displaying Seed Cost every year would be redundant.
Currently Irrigating
Currently Irrigating

Great tool to monitor what fields / plantings are currently being irrigated. This list will give you information such as company (farm), field, when irrigation was started, what water source is being used and how many days ago was the irrigation started.

Irrigations which have been started more than 7 days ago, will be displayed in red to draw user's attention to it. It's possible that user / irrigator forgot to close the irrigation.

AgNote provides a simple Progressive Web App (mobile app) for user to record crop irrigations. AgNote's users with Irrigator's role will have access only to the mobile application and will not be able to access the main AgNote's web application.

Currently Planted Row Crop Acreage
Currently Planted Row Crop Acreage

A quick glance at what row crops are currently planted and how much for each farm in the account. Farms without any row crops currently planted will not show up on this chart.

This chart will also display acreages for current plantings which have been moved to Annual Harvest View, and acreage of the fallowed field(s).

Currently Planted Row Crop Yield History (t/ac)
Currently Planted Row Crop Yield History (t/ac)

This chart will show you the average yield history, per year, for all currently planted crops. Yield is displayed in Tons per Acre.

This is a great tool / chart to visualize what yields you may expect for the currently planted crop(s).

Tip: to focus on one crop you can hide the other crops by single clicking on the other crop in the chart's legend. And like wise, single click again to show the crop.

Next Planned Row Crop Acreages
Next Planned Row Crop Acreages

This chart provides visibility to what will be planted next (planned) after current row crop will be harvested.

This chart provides us acreages of each crop, which will be planted next and how many acres have not been planned yet.

Useful chart for planning purposes. It displays acreages or each crop in the farm.

Previous Planting Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre
Previous Planting Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre

This chart displays the same cost and yield information as Current Planting Average Costs & Yield (t) Per Acre chart, but for the Previous plantings.

This chart can be great for cost comparison to compare costs side-by-side for Perouse and Current planting.

Permanent Crop Dashboard

Average Yield Per Season (lbs/ac)
Average Yield Per Season (lbs/ac)

Compare how each permanent crop variety yielded per season. Yield is displayed in pounds per acre.

Just hover over the chart's bar to see details for each variety.

On this chart you will see permanent crops planting cost details such as:

  1. Land Cost. Land cost can be, land lease, loan payments, management fee etc. This cost can be updated by going to Management -> Properties and changing the Land Cost in Properties details form.
  2. Input Costs. This cost is averaged for all inputs applied to the crop.
  3. Task Costs. This cost comes from all the task (activity) costs that you see under Completed Tasks -> Permanent Crops

Currently Irrigating
Currently Irrigating

At a glance see which fields / plantings are currently being irrigated. This list will give you information such as company (farm), field, when irrigation was started, what water source is being used and how many days ago was the irrigation started.

Irrigations which have been started more than 7 days ago, will be displayed in red to draw user's attention to it.

AgNote provides a simple Progressive Web App (mobile app) for user to record crop irrigations. AgNote's users with Irrigator's role will have access only to the mobile application and will not be able to access the main AgNote's web application.

Currently Planted Permanent Crop Acreages
Currently Planted Permanent Crop Acreages

A quick peek of what permanent crops are currently planted in each farm.

Note that fields which are being fallowed or currently don't have any crops assigned, will not show up on this chart, but will show up on Currently Planted Row Crop Acreage chart, in Row Crops Dashboard.

Farms which don't have any permanent crops currently planted will not show up on this chart.

Last Year Average Costs & Yield (lbs.) Per Acre
Last Year Average Costs & Yield (lbs.) Per Acre

This chart is just like Current Year Average Costs & Yield (lbs.) Per Acre chart, the only difference is that this chart displays cost information for the last calendar year (season).

Great for comparing last year's cost to current year running permanent crop costs.

Permanent Crop Acreages on nth Year Since Planting
Permanent Crop Acreages on nth Year Since Planting

This chart lets you know permanent crop acreages per age (year since planted). The darker the color (more to the right) the older crop is.

If you hover over the bar in the chart, you will see the crop, nth year since planting and the total acreage.

This chart can be useful for estimations, since permanent crops yield and require different amounts of inputs differently, depending on when the crop was planted.

Permanent Crop Variety Acreages
Permanent Crop Variety Acreages

This chart gives us a quick look of currently planted permanent crops acreages for each variety, per farm. To see the variety acreages, just hover over the variety color in the chart.

Notice, if the crops has multiple varieties, each variety color will have slightly different color brightness. While we can change the color for each crop in the account, we cannot change color for varieties, therefore in AgNote, each permanent crop variety will be displayed in different brightness.

Don't forget, that you can how / hide things in the chart by clicking the item's name in the chart's legend.
